What an owner needs to see before acting

Our September release changed how Coach presents a suggested action. The finding comes first, then why it matters, what to do and the working behind it.

When Coach suggests that an owner act on something, such as reviewing a supplier contract or preparing for a quieter month, the owner needs to decide quickly whether it is worth their time. Our 1 September release of the Narrative SDK reorganised these suggestions, which we call Money Actions, around that decision.

The finding first

Each action now opens with the finding behind it, drawn from the business’s own figures. The owner then sees the expected benefit, why acting matters and a short set of concrete next steps. A separate section covers what is worth knowing, and the detailed workings and sources sit at the end for anyone who wants to check them.

The owner stays in control

An owner can snooze or dismiss an action, or answer a few questions to refine it. If they open Coach from an action, the conversation stays grounded in that action’s plan, evidence, assumptions and status, so they can ask about it without starting again.

Where the evidence supports it, actions can also point to public funding opportunities, such as grants, tax reliefs and public finance programmes, alongside the main list.

Research the owner can question

The same release brought weekly market intelligence into Growth as a report inside the app. An owner can read the summary and then ask Coach about it, with the report’s context carried into the question.

Why this matters to providers

We think owners are more likely to act on guidance they can understand and check. Showing the working builds that trust, and it gives the institution’s own team a clearer picture when an owner later asks to talk.
